2022 F1 Season

The 2022 Formula One World Championship marked the 73rd season of the premier open-wheel racing series, recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). This season, contested over twenty-two Grands Prix across the globe, introduced significant changes to the sport’s technical regulations, originally planned for 2021 but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Max Verstappen, the reigning Drivers’ Champion, clinched his second title at the Japanese Grand Prix. His team, Red Bull Racing, secured their fifth World Constructors’ Championship, and their first since 2013, at the subsequent United States Grand Prix. Mercedes, the previous Constructors’ Champions, faced a challenging season.

Notably, the season was the final one for four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel. Seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton experienced a difficult year with Mercedes, failing to achieve either a pole position or a Grand Prix victory, a first in his Formula One career since its inception in 2007. The season featured races across various iconic circuits, including the Bahrain International Circuit, Circuit de Monaco, Silverstone Circuit, and Suzuka International Racing Course, showcasing the global appeal and challenging nature of Formula One racing.
